NMR spectroscopy
Our group has local access to an automated Varian MR 400, a Varian VNMR-S 500 MHz and a Jeol EX-400 MHz spectrometer. In addition, we are regular users of two 600 MHz, two 800 MHz and a 900 MHz Varian NMR spectrometer and a Bruker 600 MHz spectrometer of the Swedish NMR Centre, located a few minutes from the organic chemistry lab. Several of the instruments are equipped with cryoprobes.
For processing the softwares VNMR, VNMR-J, MestreNova, TopSpin and NMRPipe are available.
Mass spectrometry
A PE-SCIEX API 150 EX automated LC-MS instrument with turbolon ion source as well as an automated Varian Saturn 2000 GC-MS instrument is used by our group for characterizatrion of synthetic products.
Absorption spectroscopy
Perkin Elmer Polarimeter and a Perkin Elmer IR as well a Jasco720 CD spectrometer and several UV spectrometers are aivailable.
Chromatography
Our group has two Waters preparative HPLC and an HP1050 automatic analytical HPLC system, used for reverese phase separations. We have a size-exclusion chromatography instrument with Bio-beads and UV detection and a Biotage Horizon flash chromatography system.
Synthesis
Access to advanced synthetic tools, such as a Biotage Initiator microwave reactor and an automated peptide synthesizer, are available.
